Our contribution to sustainability

The topic of sustainability is extremely important to us.

In the hotel industry in particular, it is up to us to actively contribute to reducing CO2. We are already doing the following:

Highest level "Swisstainable III - leading"

Garden Park Zug AG has decided to participate in Switzerland Tourism's "Swisstainable "* sustainability program. We have already successfully completed the first of three steps towards the "Committed" level. This means that we have officially committed to sustainability, carried out a comprehensive sustainability check and taken appropriate sustainability measures. As a next step, we will refine the program with "ibex fairstay" in order to reach the highest level "Swisstainable III - leading".

*Swisstainable, Switzerland Tourism's sustainability programme, is open to all companies and organizations in the Swiss tourism sector. At a time when guests looking for sustainable offers are often lost in the maze of different certificates and labels, the main aim of Swisstainable is to offer guests more guidance.

CO2-neutral heating and cooling

We use energy and water resources sparingly and strive for constant optimization. For example, we already heat and cool our buildings almost CO2-free with lake water from Lake Zug. We also use electric vehicles and bicycles as often as possible. We offer our employees and guests e-charging stations with exclusively green electricity.

Saving water

We attach great importance to the responsible use of water, and not just for economic reasons. We reduce our water consumption in a targeted manner by using aerators in showers, water-saving nozzles and efficient dishwashers. We also recommend that our guests change their bed linen and towels less frequently. We use collected rainwater for garden maintenance.

Regional shopping

We attach great importance to regional food. We focus on local products in order to reduce travel distances and support local agriculture.

Consuming responsibly

We make sure that we use biodegradable packaging made from rapidly renewable raw materials and recycled products wherever possible. Environmentally friendly and professional disposal is also a top priority in our operations.

Training employees

Whether in the kitchen, in service or in the office: our employees know how they can contribute to greater climate protection through their active actions in their day-to-day work. We offer regular training in this area. Our employees also receive further training in the area of communication with guests from different cultures.
